Discover the the latest innovation we use to protect your eyes and sight...
Our consulting room is superbly designed to accommodate our state of the art equipment giving you a comfortable and efficient examination experience with our Optometrist, Hayley, who will talk you through every step of your consultation and explain the equipment used, involving you as much (or as little) as you want.

OCT
Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) is an innovative imaging technique obtaining high resolution 3D-images of your retina in seconds. These scans provide exceptional details of the layers below the retinal surface not visible to us by other means. Advanced 3D-OCT imaging assists us in the early detection of eye diseases along with their monitoring – these conditions include glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration (AMD).
Optomap
Optomap Retinal Imaging gives us an ultra-wide (200 degree) view of the back of your eyes and allow us to examine 82% of your retina compared to the 15% seen with traditional methods. It is simple, quick and painless and allows us to examine the health of your eyes in the very best way we can which is why we include it in all of our eye examinations.

Digital Phoropter
The Topcon CV-5000S digital phoropter replaces the need for close contact eye testing. With removable eye shields it is quick and easy to clean between patients as the lenses are concealed. The unit replaces the traditional trial frame which could often be heavy and cumbersome. It also enables a more accurate and efficient examination.
iCare
No more air-puff test! The iCare tonometer is based on a measuring principle that requires no eye drops or air-puff. Most clients report not feeling anything at all using this method, whilst some reporting a sensation similar to someone tickling their eyelashes. I-Care’s latest technology makes checking your eye pressure more accurate and comfortable than ever.

Digital Slit Lamp
The Topcon SL-D4 LED digital slit lamp enables our optometrist to assess both the front and the back of your eyes, microscopically examining for any abnormalities or problems. This instrument allows us to photograph your eyes for education and monitoring purposes with a discrete integrated camera.
Digital Spectacle Measuring
The digital app from Nikon enables us to take spectacle measurements efficiently and with precision. At CBTR the client experience is at the centre of everything we do, this iPad based simulation and measuring device ensures your dispense experience is exceptional. This tool helps us perform simulations to better understand your visual needs and preview how your new lenses will help you obtain better vision.
